Our Story
VanWa Legal PLLC was founded by Roger Priest, a Vancouver, Washington attorney who spent nearly a decade working inside the criminal justice system before building his own practice. Roger worked as both a prosecutor and a public defender, handling thousands of cases and trying nearly one hundred jury trials over the course of his government service.
That experience, seeing cases from both sides of the courtroom, shaped how the firm approaches every client relationship: directly, honestly, and with the trial readiness that comes from genuinely knowing how a courtroom works, not just how a settlement negotiation does.
Meet the Attorney
Roger Priest received his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008 and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina in 2004. He is licensed to practice in both Washington and Oregon, and is a member of the American Inns of Court and the Washington Defender Association.
Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Roger is the son of a Cuban immigrant and speaks Spanish, which allows him to serve Washington's Hispanic community directly. Before founding his own practice, he worked as both a prosecutor and a public defender, giving him firsthand experience with how cases are built, argued, and defended from every side.
